About PayLawyers

Lawyers shouldn't moonlight as bookkeepers.

PayLawyers is one system for everything your firm bills, collects, and holds in trust — with an AI assistant doing the busywork — so your time goes back to practicing law.

Why we built it

The money work shouldn't run the firm.

Most firms run their finances across a billing tool, a payment processor, and a trust spreadsheet — then spend hours each month sending reminders, reconciling accounts, and hoping nothing crossed the trust line. It's work no one went to law school to do.

We built PayLawyers so the software does that work. One system holds client funds correctly, gets you paid, chases what's owed, and answers the moment you ask — and the one mistake the bar punishes becomes a deliberate, logged event, never an accident.

What we believe

Four principles under every screen.

01

Software should do the busywork.

If a person is copying numbers between tools or chasing invoices by hand, we haven't finished our job.

02

Correct before clever.

Money can't be approximate. Idempotent writes, an append-only ledger, and reconciliation that ties out are the floor — not a premium tier.

03

Trust is sacred.

Client funds stay segregated and audit-ready by default — never one reconciliation away from a problem the bar would notice.

04

Calm, not loud.

Collections with decorum, an assistant that asks before it acts, and screens that respect a lawyer's attention.

“A firm should never lose an hour — or a client's trust — to its billing software.”
